Microsoft abandonned age of empires 2 around 2004 because they said the servers were too expensive. The game doesnt stutter/lag and wait for host or anything. Originally posted by Piu:I've tried DE and my god! There's ZERO lag. I do think, however, that aoe2HD will prevail because it requires less hardware and can still be played without a dedicated GPU, but it's just a loooooot better to play the aoe2DE. It brings so much quality of life, like it shows the number of vills on each resource without having to click that buttton next to the minimap, it shows your ctrl groups with different icons, like a group of archers will show as a bow and arrow and stuff. Try to compare that with other remasters that offer nothing new (just reskins), like wc3 and starcraft? People complaining about $15 probably dont even have the hardware to run it 11. The aoe2DE will come with all current civs + 4 new ones, so you don't have to buy/unlock other DLCs like Rajas and stuff and it comes at a very small price for a classic ($15 if you already own HD). I had no problems running on a gtx750ti i5 (2nd gen) 8gb ram at 1920x1080. ![]() Game was made in a new engine and not just some reskins like people keep yapping about. I've tried DE and my god! There's ZERO lag. ![]()
